Gartner has announced that it is cancelling its annual global IT Symposium/Xpo, which was scheduled to take place in Dubai, UAE from 2 -4 March, 2020, over the increasing concerns about the Coronavirus outbreak that has impacted the world. The organisers have released a statement, which said, “Due to ongoing concerns about the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19), Gartner has decided to cancel IT Symposium/Xpo. Therefore, out of an abundance of caution, we believe this is the right decision given the evolving public health risks.”
The statement also advised attendees to cancel or modify travel arrangements as appropriate, including contacting the hotel if you have a room reservation. The organisers have reached out to all registered attendees, exhibitors and partners with details about their individual situations.
