Sabre appoints new country manager for Saudi Arabia
Faisal Kayal will be based in Jeddah, and will help drive Sabre’s expansion across the country
Sabre, a global technology provider for the travel and tourism industry, has appointed Faisal Kayal as country manager for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).
Faisal will lead commercial operations and customer relations in three regions in KSA, a key growth market for Sabre. He is tasked with optimising Sabre’s performance across KSA, as well as identifying and executing strategic opportunities for Sabre’s agency customers to grow their business across the Kingdom.
“The Saudi Arabian travel and tourism market is fast evolving, led by the government’s Vision 2030 Plan to make it one of the world’s top five destinations,” said Abdul-Razzaq Iyer, vice president, Sabre Travel Network Middle East. “We are committed to spearheading the country’s travel market through this exciting time, and I am confident that Faisal is the right person to help our customers tap into this growth through the latest technology.”
Faisal joins Sabre from Saudia, where he served as vice president, network planning and revenue management. In his 20 years with the airline, Faisal started his career as an avionic technician and moved up to executive roles, where he was closely involved in developing the strategic, long-term vision for Saudia.
“Sabre’s vision makes it the ideal technology partner for the dynamic travel industry,” said Faisal. “I’m therefore excited to join Sabre at this time to help execute its ambitious strategy and support its growing base of customers in the region.”
Faisal holds a master’s degree in Management Information System (MIS) from the American University in Washington, US and brings strong leadership, strategic vision coupled with local and regional experience. He will be based out of our offices in Jeddah.
