Dubai Police to establish smart police station at Silicon Oasis
Station will provide access to police and community services through unmanned kiosk
Dubai Police will establish a ‘smart police station' at Dubai Silicon Oasis.
The smart police station, which will begin operations this year, is an interactive kiosk that provides access to Dubai Police services.
The unmanned station offers services that are available at normal police stations, such as opening a case, issuing certificates and permits, and lost-and-found enquiries where found items can be deposited at a drop-box at the station.
The facility leverages smart interactive technologies to enable customers to complete their transactions without the need to visit traditional police stations, resulting in significant time savings, and enhanced convenience.
Dubai Police signed an MoU with the Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority to establish the station. The agreement was signed by Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, and Dr Mohammed Alzarooni, Vice Chairman and CEO of DSOA.
Major General emphasized Dubai Police Force's commitment to achieve the vision of the wise leadership in building a happy society, and facilitating customer access to their services anytime, while the number of visitors of regular police stations is anticipated to decrease by 80 per cent. In addition, the Smart Police Station will be easily accessible for people of determination, further advancing Dubai's journey to become the happiest and smartest city in the world.
For his part, Dr Alzarooni noted that the partnership will go a long way in strengthening the relations between the two parties and consolidating DSO's position as Dubai's leading free zone. He added that the agreement aligns with DSOA's commitment to contributing to Smart Dubai and providing state-of-the-art smart government services to employees and residents of its communities. Dr. Alzarooni highlighted the vital importance of police services in safeguarding the security and happiness of the citizens. Furthermore, Dr Alzarooni praised the great efforts of Dubai Police in building productive synergies with entities across the emirate.
Major-General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri commended the partnership with DSOA in establishing the first Smart Police Station, which will provide Dubai Police services to customers without the need for human interaction. He highlighted the pledge of the Dubai Police Force to always be readily available to assist the whole community.
He added that the new station, open 24 hours, seven days a week, will offer 27 traffic- and crime-related services, as well as a further 33 community-related services.
